Shadow Menagerie has a new look.
I tried my best when I self-published Shadow Menagerie back in 2015. I really did. However, I’m no graphic designer. I copy-pasted a photo from Flickr for the front cover, and it shows. The back cover was nothing but the blurb I had written for the Amazon page. I always felt the cover design (and text formatting) could be better given more talent and know-how, and that always bothered me.
It took about a decade, but I’ve finally gotten around to the upgrade. Many thanks to Timothy A. Green for the new cover design, which he created specifically for this book, and to Onyx Green for the new Grimgata logo. The improvements on both fronts are dramatic, in my opinion.
I also reformatted the text and hired a proofreader to give the book one more going-over.
If you bought the 2015 Shadow Menagerie, thank you, and I would never ask you to buy it again. This revision is essentially the same book with a different cover, formatting, and fewer errors.
If you’re considering reading and/or buying it for the first time, I recommend the new revision. It’s not only the best possible Shadow Menagerie I can release in 2026 but hopefully for the rest of my days.
